We’re Taking a Short Break

If you’re a regular listener to YourTunes, you’ll have noticed it’s been a while since our last live show. We think we should explain where we have disappeared to, and what exactly is happening with the station.

What’s going on?

During our live shows a few months ago, we started to experience various technical issues and we took a break while we worked on addressing them. We wanted to give you guys the best listening experience possible and would only return once we were certain all issues were ironed out and we could give you the (not so professional) shows you were used to.

In that time, though, a few personal commitments have come up for all of us which means we’re not having as much time as we’d like to focus on the station. Cal currently has an ever increasing mountain of uni work, and Louis is about to start training with his first guide dog.

So is this the end?

Of course not! You can’t get rid of us that easily. We’re just taking a break for a while and will return once we can commit to the station properly and make it a success. We’re already working on a few exciting features for when we come back, one of them being automated song requests so you won’t have to wait until someone is live to take control of the playlist and get your favourite tune heard on the radio. Stay tuned for more on that.

When will you be back?

Hopefully in the new year. Keep an eye on our Twitter and Facebook pages and once we’re ready to return, you’ll be the first to know.

As we said, this does not at all mean it is the end of YourTunes, and once we come back we’re confident we can make the station better than ever. Third time lucky if you like.

If you have any more questions, feel free to get in touch either via the contact us page or on social media.

YourTunes Gets Hourly News Updates

For a while, we have been working on providing our listeners with hourly news updates, and we’re happy to say this is now working successfully. During our automated shows i.e. None Stop Hits, The Breakfast Mix, Drivetime etc, you will hear an up to date one minute news bulletin on the hour.

Unfortunately, this does mean that we have to play one advert at the end of every bulletin. This is a requirement of the news service we use and is completely out of our control, but don’t worry, they’re not every two minutes. You will hear one 30 second advert after each bulletin, and then it’s straight back to the music!

Thanks go out to Radio News Hub for allowing us to use their news service.
